GOLD COASTERS BIG SPECIAL OLYMPICS MEDAL HAUL

Two Gold Coasters have brought home gold and bronze medals from the Special Olympics World Winter Games in South Korea.

Bryce Fuller and Luke Forster were part of a five person Australian team – who carved up the alpine skiing events.

  1. Congratulations to our Special Olympics Australia – Gold Coast champions who represented Australia with pride, bravery and honor competing against 127 other nations on the slopes of the mountains in Pyeongchang, South Korea at the 2013 – 10th Special Olympics World Winter Games.

    This team gave it their 100% personal best and came home with 13 medals – congratulations Bryce Fuller and Luke Forster – you are true champions and have shown that having an intellectual disability is no barrier to achieving your dreams!

    Special thanks also to Senator Jan McLucas, Parliamentary Secretary for Disabilities and Carers who visiting the team to wish them well for a successful competition and congratulated them on making it to the games – Senator McLucas also presented the team with a personal letter signed by Julia Gillard – Prime Minister of Australia, Kate Lundy – Minister for Sport and herself celebrating thier personal success.
