A man has died after being hit by a 4WD in Muswellbrook last night.
The 25-year-old was crossing the New England Highway when the collision happened.
He was treated at the scene before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital where he died on arrival.
The 60-year-old driver is undergoing mandatory blood and urine testing.
