HUNDREDS OF INMATES BEING RELOCATED DUE TO MOUSE PLAGUE

Hundreds of inmates at a jail in the state’s central west are being relocated due to the mouse plague.
Rodents have chewed through wiring and damaged ceiling panels at the Wellington correctional centre.
It means around 420 male and female inmates now have to be transferred to other jails in the region within the next 10 days.
Corrective Services NSW says some inmates will return to the facility to work during the day.
As many as 200 staff will be redeployed to other jails as the damage is repaired.
A skeleton crew will stay onsite to oversee the work.
