POLICE APPEAL FOR HELP AFTER TAXI DRIVER ROBBED IN TAMWORTH

Police are appealing for the public’s help following the armed robbery of a taxi driver in Tamworth overnight.

At around 2.45 this morning, police responded to reports a 59-year-old man had left his car before he was approached by two armed men.

They proceeded to threaten the man with a knife while demanding cash, before fleeing the scene with the driver’s backpack.

The pair are described as being aged between 17 and 20, with thin builds. They were last seen running in parkland on Wahroonga Drive in Hillvue.
