FISHERMEN LEFT FLOATING IN WALLIS LAKE FOR 11 HOURS

Two fishermen are lucky to be alive after they were left floating in Wallis Lake, near Forster for 11 hours overnight.

The pairs fishing vessel sank around 6pm, and eventually floated to shore just after 5am this morning.

One of the fishermen managed to flag down a passing vehicle at Coomba Bay when emergency services were notified.

Local Ambulance Paramedics and emergency services rushed to the location and treated the men, aged in their 40’s for hypothermia.

The men were transported to Manning Base Hospital at Taree in a critical condition.
