PORT MACQUARIE MOVES TO LEVEL 2 WATER RESTRICTIONS

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council has announced Level 2 water restrictions will come in to effect this Monday.

The town’s combined water storage levels have fallen below 60% due to reduced river flows and lower than average rainfall.

Restrictions mean hand-held hoses can only be used for up to 30 minutes a day during off-peak times.

Sprinklers and unattended hoses are also banned.

Level 1 water restrictions have been enforced across all mid-north coast Councils since the beginning of winter.

Kempsey could be just weeks away from Level 3 restrictions, which would affect large businesses.
