A police operation continues on Lake Road, Swansea in Lake Macquarie.
Police attended the home shortly after 3pm yesterday, and attempted to speak with a man; however, he entered the house and refused to leave.
A perimeter was established and specialist police, including negotiators, were called to the scene.
Lake Road remains closed in both directions and the public is urged to avoid the area.
