FIRE TEARS THROUGH DERELICT GOSFORD BUILDING

Fire has ripped through an abandoned building in Gosford this afternoon. Orange flames burst through the windows of the derelict Beane Street building, as black smoke billowed into the sky. More than a dozen people were evacuated from neighbouring buildings. Fire and Rescue Crews were decontaminated for asbestos, after extinguishing the blaze in less than an hour. Firefighters were called to a fire at the same building last month. No one was injured.

COAST COMMUTERS QUESTION EMERGENCY BUS DELAY

Central Coast commuters are questioning why buses weren’t immediately engaged to transport passengers stranded after a lightning strike during yesterday’s peak period, despite multiple vehicles on standby. Hundreds were stuck at Gosford station while crews worked on an electrical outage, caused by a lightning strike between Hornsby and Gosford. In a statement, Transport for New South Wales said emergency buses were on call but weather conditions hindered their use.   Audio in parts.

It was the end of an era in Central Coast radio today. Real Estate show, ‘Our House’ hung up the headphones after nearly two decades. While local sporting identities crowded out the 2GO studio, fare-welling listeners of the award-winning Locker Room. CENTRAL COAST COMPANY FINED OVER EMPLOYEE’S CHEMICAL BURNS

A West Gosford chemical producer has been fined nearly $50,000 after an employee suffered second-degree burns mixing an adhesive in 2016. Hiltour has been handed the penalty, after a 28-year-old man had to undergo numerous skin graft surgeries to his leg. It’s been revealed the employee of 10 years never received adequate training to deal with the hazardous substance. Hiltour has the option to appeal the decision.   Vision only.

CENTRAL COAST FAMILY HOMELESS AFTER GARAGE FIRE SPREADS

There’s been a lucky escape for a Tuggerah family after a fire broke out at their Ambrosius Court home on Friday afternoon. Six firefighting crews were called to the address just before 3 o’clock, after flames spread from the garage. The blaze damaging two bedrooms and causing part of the roof to collapse. While no one was injured, the house is uninhabitable. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
