TAMWORTH HARNESS RACING BUILDING TOWARDS GOLDEN GUITAR

Tamworth Harness Racing begins its preparations for the Carnival of Cups at the end of the month, with an eight-race meeting on Sunday night.

Each one is brimming with talent, with 80 pacers taking to the start line.

Queensland’s Julie Weidemann is again the dominant trainer, bringing 18 horses south of the border.

While Tamworth’s Tony Missen is the best represented local, with six starters.

Horses that perform well are expected to be in line for a place in the ‘Golden Guitar’ heats on January 22.

Sunday’s first race begins just after six.
