A Dorrigo man has been charged with firearm and drug offences following a police pursuit in Coffs Harbour last week.
About 11:30pm on New Years Eve, police initiated a pursuit with a white Volvo sedan around the Jetty area at Coffs Harbour.
The pursuit ended when the vehicle was involved in a crash on Moore Street, Coffs Harbour. The male driver and his passenger fled the scene.
During a search of the vehicle, police allegedly located a shortened rifle and drug paraphernalia.
Following further investigations, a 20-year-old man from Dorrigo was arrested on New Years Day. He was later charged with possession of a shortened firearm and administering a prohibited drug.
He was subsequently refused bail to reappear at Coffs Harbour Local Court today.
