COMMUNITY RALLIES AROUND HUNTER CHARITY AFTER THEFT

A Hunter charity says it’s been overwhelmed by an outpouring of support, following a heartless theft.

$3,000 in donations was stolen from a fundraising ball hosted by SIDS and Kids at the weekend.

Today, Beyond Bank chipped in the same amount, to help make up for the loss.

“When we saw the loss of money from the SIDS and Kids Rapsady Ball, obviously our customers and supporters of SIDS got onto social media and of course we just knew we needed to get in there and give them a hand.”

The charity says it’s also received unexpected donations from members of the public.

“It’s heartwarming when you know something so awful has happened and to get some support back.”
