HAILSTONES THE SIZE OF GOLF BALLS RAIN DOWN ON PORT MACQUARIE

Port Macquarie was battered by hail and wind gusts of over 100 kilometres an hour early this afternoon.

The storm hit at about two o’clock, ahead of the southerly change, bringing with it heavy rain and hailstones the size of golf balls.

The SES received more than 30 calls for assistance, but says no major damage was caused.

  1. Boxing Day 1984 and 2002 I think were the other occasions that Hail Stone as big as a golf ball have occured. This is not the first time in Port Macquarie NSW.

  2. No Way!! I just left Port Macquarie at 1pm today heading back to Sydney. Looked nasty over there but no rain at the time.
