Prince Charles and his wife Camilla are in Australia, but back in 1988 it was a different royal couple wowing the crowds down under.
The Queen and Prince Phillip paid a visit for the Bi-Centennary.
They spent a day in Newcastle, which was memorable for many reasons, especially for long serving Lord Mayor John McNaughton and his wife Margaret.
And on that same weekend in 1988, the First Fleet re-enactment arrived from England.
Our camera’s captured the beautiful sights as the tall ships entered Newcastle Harbour, with local artist, the late Anne Von Bertouch on board.
