WOMAN CHARGED OVER PORT MACQUARIE HIT AND RUN

A 53-year-old Port Macquarie woman has been charged after this week’s fatal hit and run incident in the town.

The body of a 48-year-old woman was found on Hill Street just after 6 o’clock on Wednesday night.

Police yesterday seized a green Mazda from a Port Macquarie business, and then arrested the 53-year-old woman at a Hill Street address.

She’s charged with failing to stop and render assistance following a vehicle-impact causing death.

The woman was bailed to appear in Port Macquarie Local Court on July 16.

  1. The person that was brutally run down by a driver that did not stop was a friend of mine – a good friend. I hope the 53yo female driver has nightmares for the rest of her life – not because she hit her but because she didn’t stop. Was she drunk, was she “high” or was she just pain bloody stupid? I now live a long way from Port but my pain is heartwrenching for Annalese – a beautiful sole that was funny, true, loyal and dedicated Aunty to two beautiful boys. I will always miss you my friend – another star shines inn the sky xxxxx

  2. It was tragic of the death and I do feel for Annalese and her friends and family no one deserves that. However saying things about the driver won’t fix it, no one could say that they wouldn’t drive away, everyone would like to think they wouldn’t but no one knows truly until they are put in the position you would be so scared and filled with panic, she was wearing dark clothes and could have easily been un-seen. The driver has children too that have to live with this and it’s unfair for them.

  3. reply to emily’s comment it easy for you to say that she may have been unseen by the driver because she was wearing dark clothes. Come on she must have heard the thump when hitting Annalese it does not give her the excuse that she could not get out of her car, go and see what she hit and called for help, no she decided to take the cowards way out of it. What if that was one of her own children or be one of yours or a relative what would you do then you would be shocked and angry as well so dont stick up for the driver if she was a decent person and did the right thing and got assistance Annalese may have been alive today not left like a dog or animal on the side of the road. What she did was unfair to her children, its her fault her children have to live with it not anyone else. Furthermore it is unfair to her family and friends that she took the life of an innocent person. Again hope the Judge in Court throws the book at this stupid woman, she shouldn’t get away with what she did. One more question for Emily would you hit a person and run? you’d only be as stupid as her if u did.
