The search has ramped up for a man missing off the Gold Coast after his boat capsized.
A woman swam several hours last night to raise the alarm after the boat they were in was struck by a large wave.
The 29-year-old woman and 39-year-old man were fishing offshore when their boat took water and sunk sometime between 7pm and 11pm.
They started swimming back to shore but became separated after about an hour.
The woman made it to Main Beach Hotel at around 2am and alerted authorities before being taken to Gold Coast Hospital suffering mild hypothermia and shock.
Helicopters, jet skis, boats and shore line searchers are scouring the coast between Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach for the missing man.
Police say they are confident they can find the man.
