A 41-year-old police officer has been shot dead outside a block of flats in West Tamworth this morning.
Paramedics treated the officer but he died a short time later.
Another man was injured and is receiving emergency treatment while under police guard.
The police have also arrested another man who was seen leaving the flats immediately after the shooting.
