MULTI MILLION DOLLAR BILL FROM ERARING POWER STATION FIRE

The bill for the fire at Lake Macquarie’s Eraring Power Station could hit a staggering $20-million – with insurance and taxpayers left to cover the cost.

  1. How could there possibly be no environmental impact? That really seems a very odd thing to say. Would you need to at least assess monitoring equipment or samples to verify. Fish could still be dying. If there isnt any impact why cant we use the Lake surrounding the area, could it be because the outcomes are reality still unknown?

There are permanent bunds built around the transformers for this reason, the stations own fire crew as well as others from the area erected oil absorbent booms arcoss the outlet canal, most would have been contained on site. Two stroke outboards leave more oil around than what escaped from the transformer.
