Dry July has done more than give participants’ livers a break.
This year, the campaign’s raised over $80,000 for Lismore Base Hospital and cancer accommodation service, Our House.
“It’s very important, it’s very vital to our community and to just be there. To be a facility to help those people who are undergoing treatment, and their families.”
The campaign’s founders were there to present the cheque and see how the money will be spent.
“It’s amazing you know, we never thought that this would be where we’d be today. To come and see things like this, to know what we’re helping in some way to fund this project is amazing.”
Lismore was the only regional centre selected to share in the $2.6million raised for 13 hospitals across the country.
