The North Coast homeless support group, ‘On Track’ is desperately looking for rental properties to house families in need of permanent accommodation.
As part of National Homeless Person’s week, the organisation set up a stall in Lismore Square to educate the public on the support services available for people in need on the North Coast.
“Our populations 3% of the NSW population but we had 6% of the homeless population and for rough sleepers we had 15 per cent.”
On Track is also encouraging anyone without a permanent address to register their situation on census night, so that accurate data can be gathered on the issue.
