A young intellectually disabled girl has been rescued from Wyong River after going missing from her house last night.
The 16-year-old girl is believed to have spent the night in cold conditions in the Wyong River, after last being seen at her Wyong home at around 11 o’clock.
After an extensive air and land search officers spotted the girl in the river at around 6:30 this morning.
Two officers and two locals jumped into the river and rescued the girl with the assistance of a jet ski.
She was taken to Wyong Hospital and is said to be doing well considering the ordeal.
