Man of the hour, Joel Parkinson, has received another massive welcome home, this time at the Rainbow Bay Surf Life Saving Club.

The new world surfing champion joked about his first sponsorship deal, at the age of 11.
“My contract was three pairs of boardshorts and cheap wetsuits and some stickers.”
The 31-year-old is rumoured to be attending tomorrow’s Triple Crown Contest at Duranbah Beach, which will raise money for the Disabled Surfers Association.
