The trusty postie bike will be put to the test this week, in the second annual ‘Variety Postie Bike Dash’.
A contingent of more than 38 riders left Newcastle this morning and will visit regional areas of New South Wales, including Tamworth and Denman.
“They might not know anybody when they start but everyone’s a great mate when we finish”, says organiser Victor Sheil.
“This is our second year we’ve done it. We trialled it last year and it worked out fairly well and this year we’ve almost doubled our numbers so we’re actually quite happy with it”.
The ride aims to raise $90,000 to help sick or disadvantaged children in the community.
