Member for New England Barnaby Joyce has spoken out against the ABC’s changes to regional radio programming.
The ABC has announced it will cut two local news bulletins, while extending its weekday breakfast program.
Mr Joyce says the ABC’s billion dollar budget should enable a strong regional focus.
“I call on the ABC to basically look into their budget and say what is actually consumed by the public and are we doing the right by people in regional Australia, if we take away something that really is their bread and butter connection to the ABC.
The broadcaster insists the changes won’t lead to jobs losses.
