A large fuel tanker is on fire on the Pacific Highway near
Ballina.
The highway has been closed and diversions are in place.
The tanker is thought to have been carrying 40,000 litres of fuel and the New South Wales Ambulance Service reports that the driver of the vehicle has been killed.
