A new ore mine could be built north-west of Glen Innes, with council today placing the development application for the Taronga Tin Mine on public exhibition.
The site will mine an estimated 410,000 tonnes of ore and waste rock over its lifetime.
It will also house an onsite crushing and processing plant… to produce 1,000 tonnes of tin concentrate to export overseas.
The entire site spans 96 hectares with the active mine taking up just under two.
Residents are able to make a submission until April 17.
