Two new North-West solar projects could be approved by the end of the year, with large farms proposed for Narrabri and Armidale.
The projects could generate a combined 220 megawatts of energy, potentially powering more than 60,000 homes.
The Narrabri Solar Farm is slated to be built directly north of the town centre, with a predicted 14 permanent jobs.
On the Tablelands, Armidale’s farm would be situated 30 kilometres east of the city, creating up to 12 jobs if approved.
