LOCATION FOR TAMWORTH ORGANIC RECYCLING FACILITY APPROVED BY COUNCIL

Plans for a $15 million organic recycling facility in Tamworth have been given the green light.

Last night, Tamworth Regional Council decided on a 117 hectare site, around 20 kilometres from the town’s CBD.

“What will be going on there is an Organic Recycling Facility, which will include concrete tunnels that will encapsulate the organic waste and we’ll have biofilters to stop the omission of odours coming out of it.”

Council is waiting on confirmation from the EPA, before construction on the facility can begin.
