Accused shooting mastermind found dead in jail

The Hunter man accused of planning the shooting death of Stockton grandmother, Stacey Klimovitch, has died in jail.

Stuart Campbell was charged with murdering the 61-year-old in November 2021. Ms Klimovitch was gunned down when she answered her front door that June.

Two other men remain before the courts, also charged in relation to her death.

Today Campbell’s solicitor told Newcastle Local Court she was informed of his passing by an officer at Sydney’s Long Bay Jail.

His case will return to court next month where it’s expected to be finalised.
