SCU Researchers uncover earliest known surgical amputation over 31,000 years ago

Local researchers have discovered an insight into what life was like as an amputee, 31-thousand years ago – and how much technology has changed.

In a groundbreaking study, by Griffith and Southern Cross universities, they’ve uncovered what’s believed to be the earliest procedure of a successful amputation.
