Australian country music legend, John Williamson, is set to be honoured with a life-sized bronze statue.
Tamworth Regional Council has agreed to underwrite the commission of the tribute, saying the ‘True Blue’ singer has made “an extraordinary contribution to our nation’s image.”
It will be unveiled when Tamworth hosts its 50th annual Country Music Festival in January next year.
Fundraising will begin next month.
