MAN DIES ON BENNETTS BEACH AT HAWKS NEST

Members of the public have discovered the body of a man on the Hunter’s Myall Coast this morning.

It’s believed two women walking along Bennetts Beach in Hawks Nest found the man deceased, lying in the shallows near the shoreline, just after 7:30am.

The passersby alerted emergency services, who rushed down to the southern end of the beach.

There, about 500 metres from the Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Surf Life Saving Club, police found the body of a 66-year-old man.

“Police believe there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death,” said a NSW Police spokesperson.

“A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.”
