WEATHER UPDATE – HOT HOT HOT

5 October 2012

During Friday we witnessed some incredible early October temperatures with the Greater Hunter and MNC hitting the mid 30s thanks to dry hot NW winds making it the hottest day of the year so far.

The humidity dipped below 10% for numerous locations which exacerbated the bushfire situation on the Central Coast.
A southerly change delivered some late afternoon relief but it is so weak it isn’t expected to move far beyond Port Macquarie and the Upper Hunter will remain hot as well. This change will help create some cloud for Saturday morning across the Lower Hunter, MNC and Tablelands but shower activity will be very limited.
Northern NSW and SE QLD will remain hot and mostly sunny across the weekend.
A stronger southerly will come through on Sunday. This is associated with a forming low that will cross the southern NSW coast and move into the Tasman Saturday night. This will generate a new swell for the coast on Sunday.
