Work continues to move forward along Newcastle’s rail corridor, with a pedestrian crossing extending from Wolfe Street.
At around 7:30 this morning council workers were seen laying matting across the rail line, before applying packing sand.
Meanwhile an appeal against a Supreme Court finding that the state government needs Parliament’s approval to cut the rail line, has been set down for early March.
