NEW ENGLAND ROADS ENJOY SLICE OF STATE BUDGET

A number of New England roads have received a slice of the state budget.

$22-million has been allocated for maintenance work on the Newell Highway, while Werris Creek Road has received $10-million for upgrades.

The controversial Rangari Road upgrade, between Tamworth and Gunnedah, will receive $1.4-million, and a further $7-million will help floodproof the Gwydir Highway, east of Moree.
