Two people have had a lucky escape after becoming trapped in the Snapper Point Sea Cave this afternoon.
Lifeguards from Catherine Hill Bay were en route to free the pair, but were stood down as the pair managed to get out of harm’s way.
Surf Life Savers warn the cave is a drowning hotspot and rough conditions forecast mean the area should be avoided.
Twenty-seven people have lost their lives near the cave since 2007.
