INVERELL AND GWYDIR SHIRE LGA’S OFFICIALLY INCLUDED IN QLD BORDER BUBBLE

There’s finally some good news for Inverell and Gwydir Shire residents looking to head north.

Both local government areas will be officially added to Queensland’s border bubble from October 1.

It comes after the Queensland Government opted to change the conditions of the ‘border bubble’ to an LGA basis, rather than postcodes.

The decision follows months of pushing from residents, councils and state member, Adam Marshall.

Under the rules, any resident living within the border zone can travel to anywhere in Queensland, for any purpose.
