FORMALS, GRADUATIONS AND SCHOOL SOCIALS BANNED AS NSW GOVT RELEASES COVIDSAFE GUIDELINES

Term 3 is set to look very different across Northern NSW as school adapt to the new normal.

The State Government today released its COVIDsafe guidelines, and there’s plenty of changes.

Under the plan, interschool activities will be restricted within their own zone and parents/carers and non-essential visitors won’t be allowed on school grounds.

In what’s likely to be disappointing news for Year 12s, all formals and dances have been banned, as have graduation ceremonies and other social events.

All activities which involving singing, chanting or the use of wind instruments have also been canned, so forget about choir practice.

School excursions, school camps, orientation days, P&C meetings, working bees, fundraisers and sports carnivals have been put on hold.

In fact all extra curricular activities have been put on hold, with the State Government stipulating that ‘only providers that are essential to the delivery of curriculum should continue’.

Students are also being encouraged to stay within their relevant cohort group, where possible.
