MAN THREATENS TO BURN GOSFORD CLUB DOWN AFTER BEING KICKED OUT

A man has allegedly attempted to light a Gosford club on fire, after being kicked out for being too drunk.

Around 9:30pm on Tuesday, the 66-year-old was told to leave the Central Coast Highway licensed premises.

Police say he later returned to the club with flammable liquid and threatened to set the building alight.

Security caught the man before he went any further, with police arresting him a short time later.

He’s been charged with a string of offences, including assault and armed with the intent to commit an indictable offence.

The East Gosford man was refused bail to face Gosford Local Court on Wednesday.
