FUNDS FLOOD INTO LISMORE

The region is being inundated with election promises, the latest coming from Labor, committing to a $12-million National Institute for Flood Resilience at Southern Cross University.

The Institute will include a new network of smart sensors and the establishment of a Flood Response Centre.

“It means greater capacity for research but also greater capacity to put that research into practice in the local community to work closely with landholders to better predict floods.”

Labor says the Institute will complement the existing National Centre for Flood Research.
