MIXED REVIEWS ON ‘HONEYSUCKLE HOPSCOTCH’ ARTWORK

PhD students from the University of Newcastle have teamed up with the Hunter Development Corporation and Newcastle Port, to create a new piece of artwork.

Located in Harbour Square, ‘Honeysuckle Hopscotch’ pays tribute to the site’s indigenous heritage, but it’s been criticised for looking like road markings.

It’s the first of five art projects planned for Honeysuckle, thanks to $135,000 from the Newcastle Port Community Contribution Fund.
