POLICE CONTINUE THEIR APPEAL TO HELP TRACK DOWN HUNTER SEX PREDATOR

A number of Hunter schools have ramped up safety measures, after the horrific attack on an 11-year-old girl on Tuesday.

New procedures, such as an SMS message system to notify parents when their child is absent, have been implemented.

Police are still searching for the girl’s attacker… and continue to appeal for those with CCTV or dashcams to review any footage.

“That vehicle may have just been driving past them, a number plate which matches a vehicle, a red car, we’ll go through it all… it might take us some time but we will do and it might be the lead that we need,” Detective Inspector Steve Laksa from Newcastle Police says.

The offender is described as being of chubby build, with dark messy hair, and was wearing jeans and a dark hoodie.
