More than 150 years after the mass murder of an Aborginal community in the Clarence Valley, the story is making headlines.

The Coutts Crossing community is looking to potentially change the village’s name, in a step towards reconciliation.

    Having been born in the UK, to me, the name “Coutts” refers to the banking family – who I believe are the Queens’ bankers. I would like to know if this Mr Coutts was sent to Australia or came as a free settler!
