FATAL CRASH NEAR LAKE MACQUARIE

A 65-year-old man has died, after the car he was driving hit a power pole at Rathmines, near Lake Macquarie.

Emergency services were called to Dorrington Road around 4:30 on Monday afternoon, where despite the best efforts of paramedics the driver couldn’t be saved.

Initial inquiries suggest the man may have suffered a medical episode.
