Greg Bird has been named in a 24 man Kangaroos squad, for the upcoming four nations tournament.
Australian coach Tim Sheens will finalise his squad later in the week, with a few players still in doubt.
Selectors have named 10 debutantes, which Sheens admits is concerning.
Bird skippered the Primer Ministers 13 on their recent tour of Papua New Guinea.
