MAN EXTRADITED OVER ALLEGED ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY
A man has been extradited from Queensland over an alleged attempted armed robbery in the state’s far north more than six years ago.
Police say the man, armed with a firearm, allegedly forced entry to a general store on Mt Lindsay Road at Legume in late October, 2011.
During the incident, the man became involved in a struggle with the store attendant, a 57-year-old woman.
The woman sustained cuts to her hands during the altercation, but the man fled empty-handed.
Following extensive investigations, a 27-year-old man was arrested in Queensland yesterday.
The man, from Queensland, was extradited to Lismore Police Station and charged with aggravated break and enter and committing a serious indictable offence, among other charges.
