  1. 200 homes is almost doubling the present size of this village. The traffic will become impossible. There is only one central road from south to north through the main street. It also runs past a huge number of homes and driveways, both north and west of town. Already it can take some time to pull out onto the road. People will not be able to get through town if the traffic is doubled. All of the village’s facilities are right next to the main street on the south side of the village. Most of the new developments are on the north side of the railway tracks. The traffic across the railway bridge presently amounts to around 8000 vehicles per day. It is going to become ridiculous. This is also the main arterial road to Lismore – it will be interesting!!!!
More to the point is the air quality. Bangalow is in a valley. On still moist cool days, such as autumn, the pollution from the highway and the main arterial road through town hangs in the air over the town. DOuble the houses could well mean double the pollution.
Unlike other north coast towns Bangalow is inland from the sea and so does not benefit from the cleansing sea breezes. Instead the air can hang around in the valley. Adding more cars to an already unhealthy mix is a criminal act against those people who live in the village and have to breath the air.
