Red-imported fire ants have again been found at South Murwillumbah.
The detection was made at a development site where New South Wales’ first outbreak was recorded in November.
Work is underway to eradicate the pest in a 5 kilometre area surrounding the new nest, which has been treated.
Samples are being analysed to determine if they’re linked to the original cluster.
