A 38-year-old Coffs Harbour man is in a serious condition after being bashed outside Coffs Harbour’s Hoey Moey Hotel last night.
The trouble started around a quarter to ten, when he and another man were ejected from the hotel’s beer garden for arguing.
Once outside, the other man punched him in the head, causing him to hit the pavement.
The injured man was hospitalised and later flown to Royal North Shore Hospital for emergency surgery on his bleeding brain.
He’s now in a serious but stable condition.
Police are still looking for the other man, who fled the scene.
Licensing police will be contacting the Hoey Moey in relation to the incident.
