LOCAL LENSMAN FAREWELLED

Tributes were paid today to a Newcastle man whose camera helped inspire a generation to set off and explore many of the region – and the country’s – natural wonders.
Keith Davey was a news cameraman in the early days of NBN Television.
In the 1960s, he teamed up with the Leyland Brothers for some of their most famous films.
He spent the next five decades raising a family, studying, teaching and producing a series of books on life from the beach to the bush.
Keith died last week after a long illness, and is survived by his wife Pat, their four children and families.
He was 73.

  1. Keith davey was a absolute lovely and dedecated man both to his work, family and friends and will be sorely missed. I think that it would be a grave mistake if this mans life was left unnoticed and think a headline telling people his life story would be appropriate.
