COFFS HARBOUR CITY COUNCIL SET TO SPEND $35-MILLION ON NEW GALLERY AND HQ
The Coffs Harbour City Council could be about to spend $35-million to construct a new library, art gallery and council chambers in the city.
The old Salvation Army site in Gordon Street has been chosen as the location for the new centre.
“the recommendation was that we actually nail down the Gordon Street site for the library, gallery and start looking at possibly the museum and bringing all council buildings into one building”
The mayor says buildings owned by the council, such as Rigby House, could be sold off to fund the construction of the centre.
$160,000 has been allocated by the council to develop concept plans for the project.
